It’s Getting Hot in Herre (or so the song goes)
It’s hard to believe this isn’t a record heat summer, but it’s just not. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t bake bread in the mailboxes or fry eggs on the pavement (please don’t try this at home, it’s just a pun/joke). Nonetheless, take caution with this extremely hot weather we have ahead of us for one more month. Most importantly, hydrate and please use caution when walking the pups and your kids especially afternoon and in the evening. Pavement right now will burn your feet (and their paws).
Also, check your sprinklers (both function and timing). If you are noticing dry patches, it’s a good bet your sprinkler heads or watering time needs to be adjusted. It’s also safe to assume that if you water during the heat of the day it will burn off quickly and evaporate. Best to water in the early morning hours. I know, I sound like your mother, but it’s always a good reminder and we have some new neighbors who might not be from our neck of the woods.
Having said that, welcome to RP if you are a new homeowner! We’ve seen a few introducing themselves on FB and looking for kids’ playmates and other questions. If you see a neighbor move in, say hi and tell them about the great things RP and Colleyville have to offer (hopefully someone did that to you when you moved in).
Alrighty, let’s get to the meat and potatoes of this month’s missive…
Dues & Fines
We mentioned last month about the 2nd half of the HOA annual dues being due. If you haven’t paid, please hop on our website and submit your payment. Super easy and we thank you for your promptness.
The HOA is enforcing our CC&Rs. You may have received an email regarding an issue of your property not adhering to our CC&Rs. If you receive one, please respond within seven days of receipt either how you are rectifying it or that you have fixed it. If you have not communicated back (if you received an email) or rectified, you may be receiving a fine letter in the next week or so. Some of the issues reported are: mailbox issues, landscape issues, fencing (not approved wooden or iron), trash cans in plain sight, lighting issues, street parking, etc.
Please take these emails seriously and respond back with your plan, our team is happy to work with you.
Shall We Partay?
Save the date for our Remington Park Labor Day Picnic! Saturday, August 30 from 10am-1pm at the Cabana area. More details to follow and check our Facebook page for updates!
The e-discussion continues…
E-Bike Regulations Adopted At the May 13 City Council meeting, an ordinance was adopted establishing e-bike regulations. The ordinance serves to enhance the safety of e-bike riders, pedestrians, and drivers of motor vehicles. Highlights of the new ordinance include:
Speed limits: • 10 mph on trails and sidewalks • 20 mph on the Cotton Belt Trail • The maximum posted speed on public roads
Safety requirements: • Helmets required for those under age 16 • No operation of e-bikes or e-scooters while wearing headphones or other devices that restrict hearing for riders under age 16 • No carrying passengers (unless device is designed for additional seating) • No riding after dusk without front white light and rear reflector
General restrictions: • No mini-motorbikes or pocket bikes on any public property • No Class 3 e-bikes operated by individuals under the age of 15 (identification stickers required; free from the Police Department) • No Class 1 or 2 e-bikes operated by individuals under the age of 10 • No riding on unimproved (unpaved) surfaces State law requires that e-bikes be allowed where traditional bicycles are allowed but does allow for additional local safety regulations that do not conflict with state law.
Penalty provisions are also included in the ordinance. Additional educational information will be shared with the community. Further details can be found at Colleyville.com/ebikes.
Community Shred Day, August 23

Saturday, August 23
7:00 - 10:00 AM
South Parking Lot, City Hall
Do you need to dispose of sensitive documents safely and securely? The City and Community Waste Disposal (CWD) will offer a convenient and free opportunity for individuals to shred confidential paperwork such as old bank statements, tax documents, and personal records.
This event is for residential documents only and is limited to quantity of not more than the volume of three regular household trash bags, per address. If you chose to enjoy this benefit the last round, please note the NEW “limit” to the amount you can shred (trust me, I think we caused this new limit!).
Turn Your Recycling into Relief This August
This August, your everyday recycling efforts can make a big difference for Texans recovering from the recent floods in the Hill Country.

For every ton of materials recycled through Colleyville’s curbside recycling program during the month of August 2025, Community Waste Disposal (CWD) will donate $10 to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country — supporting flood recovery and relief efforts for affected families and communities.
• Recycle more.
• Help neighbors in need.
• Make every can, bottle, and paper count.
Let’s come together as a community to turn trash into hope. The more we recycle, the more we give!
We hope you enjoyed this month’s missive. School, football and Friday Night Lights are right around the corner! Keep sending topics our way and we’ll see you on the trails and our upcoming social event, don’t forget to wave!
